Gastown Gaolers captured the lead in the second inning. Fraser Snelgrove drew a walk, scoring one run.

After East Van Black Sox scored two runs in the top of the fifth, Gastown Gaolers answered with two of their own. East Van Black Sox scored when Victoria Adams drew a walk, scoring one run and Michael Fournier induced Jason McBride to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored. Gastown Gaolers then answered when Fournier hit a solo homer.

East Van Black Sox took the lead for good with five runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth East Van Black Sox scored one run on a stolen base, David Perry doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs, and East Van Black Sox scored two runs on a stolen base.
